- Jennie-Tales is a collection of my stories, characters and illustrations that serve as a vacation whenever I want to take one. Illustrators and storytellers who seem to have landed in my subconscious - Bill Peet of course. The Pinkish, Purpleish, Bluish Egg is an example of the creativity that is so lacking in much of our low-reaching children's lit. Also read a lot of fairy tales, Bullfinch's Mythology, and Shel Silverstein who showed all his little readers that a line drawing is more mesmerizing than CGI, any day (times 1,000,000).
